His full name was "Samuel M. Milligan" but was know as S.M., at least that is what is on his stone where he's buried in Ok.   I did find an old

Yes, I have him and the family on that census with the spelling MILIGAN.   And also in the 1920 census but not in the 1930 census of Ok.
